Women across the union movement have gathered over the last week to mark the centenary of International Women’s Day, celebrating 100 years of achievement and still campaigning for change!

Equal pay and stronger rights for women were the focus of discussions at last week’s International Women’s Day – Working Women’s Summit held by the ACTU in Melbourne attended by women across unions and community groups. Speakers including ACTU President Sharan Burrow, the new Sex Discrimination Commissioner Elizabeth Broderick and Sara Charlesworth from the Centre for Applied Social Research, RMIT University.
